Teaching in Nature

Teachers' review - Auchmuty High School in Loch Leven NNR

Subsequesnt visit

Three groups of pupils have had the chance to learn at nearby national nature reserves, as part of a recent Scottish Natural Heritage project called 'Teaching in Nature'.

S3 English groups each spent a day at Loch Leven in June. Some pupils liked the boat trip over to the castle best and others the half-crazy tame pheasants.

The September visit to Tentsmuir also involved S2 Science class, for whom the highlight was willow weaving to combat bank erosion, and this meant paddling in the burn in wellingtons, which was enjoyed by all.
